The photographer Nina Weymann actually wanted to make a photo reportage about the romantic fishermen's life on the Finnish archipelago islands. Armed with the technical strategies and techniques of photojournalism, she discovered on location how her stylized ideal image was disenchanted by reality. Nevertheless, a series of photographs has been created that superficially corresponds to this ideal of classical photojournalism, while at the same time revealing cliché breaks and contradictions.
Together with Nina, we have developed a photo book that questions expectations in photojournalism and takes the reader on a search for true reality. This also includes the small supplement "Photojournalism in 24 easy Steps", in which the photographer collects tips and tricks from her own experience and the expertise of photo theory, practically as a guide for the "perfect photo reportage".
